Abstract:
Against the backdrop of the rapid transformation of the energy system, exploring market participation mechanisms that adapt to the diverse application scenarios of new energy storage and fully leveraging their systemic economic value and security capability has become an urgent issue in advancing China's "dual carbon" goals. To this end, a method for evaluating the economic benefits of new energy storage in five typical application scenarios is proposed. First, based on the structural components of the power system, different types of new energy storage application scenarios are classified, and their dynamic, diversified, and scenario-specific revenue structures are systematically identified. Second, a full life-cycle cost-benefit model is established, and the economic benefits of new energy storage under different application scenarios are evaluated using techno-economic indicators. Finally, sensitivity analysis results show that increases in peak-valley price difference and the market price of ancillary services will significantly enhance the economic benefits of energy storage projects across all scenarios. The findings provide references and a basis for further expanding revenue streams for energy storage, improving cost allocation mechanisms, and supporting energy storage applications that may be economically weak but have significant system value.
Key words:  new energy storage  renewable energy  market mechanism  cost-benefit model  economic performance analysis
