CALL FOR PAPERS
Protection and Control of Modern Power Systems
Special Issue- Cyber-Physical Co-Optimization and Control Methods in Smart Grid
With the large-scale access of new energy sources in the power grid, the power system faces the dual challenge of promoting the consumption of distributed renewable energy sources and supporting the achievement of global carbon neutrality targets. However, the disorderly disturbance characteristics of resources such as distributed power sources and flexible loads, as well as the lack of active support technologies such as source-grid-load-storage, pose a serious threat to the safe, high-quality and economic operation of the system. To cope with these challenges, we urgently need to add advanced communication and transmission technologies and decision-making and regulation technologies to form a smart grid to enhance the overall observability and controllability of the system. However, with the increase in the proportion of new energy resources and the deepening of cyber-physical fusion, the randomness of the source-side generation and the fluctuating of the load-side demand at the physical layer, as well as the uncertainty of the transmission delay, packet loss and cyber-attacks at the cyber layer are superimposed on each other, which poses a severe test to the operational security, quality and economy of the smart grid. Therefore, we must study the cyber-physical co-optimization and control methods, and strengthen the multi-field cooperation and technological innovation, to fully "wake up" the regulatory ability of the controllable resources in the smart grid, and provide strong support for the consumption of renewable energy and the realization of the carbon neutrality goal.
